A finely executed pair of mid-19th-century husband and wife portraits painted within the Central European Biedermeier tradition.

The portraits remain together as originally intended and are housed in matching geometric marquetry frames that beautifully complement the character of the paintings.

We will not separate the paintings, must be sold together.

Light craquelure, ware consistent with age. Small repair the the canvas, seen from the verso (Portrait of a Man). In otherwise, very good condition. A nice presentation, ready to be hung and enjoyed.
